Two weeks ago, Cheryl and I attended a women's conference from Total Woman University called "SHE." The theme of the event was "Becoming." Here are a few nuggets of wisdom we came away with..."We are becoming all that God has created us to be. We are a unique creation in Christ. We are on a journey of becoming beautiful gems." As we all are on this journey of life, let us remember our uniqueness. This is one thing Cheryl and I have become with SoLa....unique. We love creating and even more we love creating our own unique style of vintage hair accessories. We had a wonderful time at the conference and made some new friends through out the day. Many stopped by to take a look at our creations. We left having joy in our hearts knowing that our creativity is cherished and loved by others but most of all that we are discovering our God-given talents and using them for His glory. We hope you'll discover your own unique God-given abilities and....BECOME. ")

It's a beautiful sunny day here in south Louisiana and it just got better than that. SoLa products are now featured in a new and edgy store called DETOUR. They are amazing. All of the products featured in the store are locally made. Wow! It has been a long time since we have posted anything but we have good news! We are now in three stores in the Slidell area!!! The three stores are Kids Korner, The French Address, and DETOUR! We are so happy to have our handmade products featured in these fine establishments. So we hope that you will take the time to go and check them out and take a look at our products.
Also, this past Thursday, May 18th, we decided to have what we call "SoLa Day". It was our very first contest. We asked our followers to be the first to answer our trivia question and it was a hit! Our question was...In what century was the eye needle created? We had some responders but one of our followers, Mary, came away with being the first to answer. She won our featured hair clip on the cover of our website. Way to go, Mary! Our Story
Beginnings... a
new chapter, a new journey, a fresh start. Just two girls who decided to
launch a business with heart, passion, and lots of creativity.
That's us....
Hi, welcome to SoLa! We're Amy and Cheryl, your SoLa designers. We began SoLa on a whim in October 2011. At first, we were trying to figure out where we were and were we wanted to be. We knew that both of us loved pretty things and so pretty things we began to make.
By the end of December, many of our only handmade,vintage style headbands and hair clips were sold during the Christmas Extravaganza at Northshore Church in which all proceeds went to building homes and lives in Haiti. This was our beginning. This was our heart. Not only to make pretty things but to honor God with the gifts He gave us.
Then, God blessed us. By giving us the opportunity to display our products in Kids Korner of Slidell, LA. What a privilege! We want to give a special thanks to our dear friend Rosemary Manint of the Grapvine Salon for helping us in that endeavor. We thank the Lord for wonderful success thus far. Now we venture into a new year with fresh ideas!
